We are having a hard time deciding on a name for our little boy. He is due any day now and we still can't make a decision! We have a little girl named Jessa Marie Nichols and are looking for a good name for her little bro. We have a couple of ideas, but are looking for more. Any input is much appreciated.

-Alexander Charles Nichols

-Sebastian Charles Nichols

-Jacob Allen Nichols

..any other FN ideas? The last name beginning with an "N" doesn't help matters much. We'd like the name to flow well with Jessa if possible too!

Thank you for helping us out!

Of your list, Sebastian is my favorite with LN Nichols and a sister named Jessa.

I don't like the name ALexander (no offense, I've just never liked the name) and while I do like Jacob I think it's a bit too cutesy with Jessa. And I don't like the flow of possible NN Jake with LN Nichols.

I love your MN possibilities of Allen and Charles. Those are great with your LN and they go with almost any FN you choose!

Here are just a few other names I really like with a sister Jessa, and your LN...

Wyatt

Adam

Brett

Keaton

Arthur

Landon

Jackson

Troy

Trey

Grant

Spencer

David

Bryson

Todd

Kent

Dawson

Drake

I am torn!

I think since your daughter's name is fairly uncommon, you should not go with an overly popular name for your son. This rules out Jacob, in my book, and probably Alexander (on the popularity basis).

I like Sebastian Charles, but I am fond of names with nicknames, and I really like Alexander.

So I guess it depends: If I was just choosing b/w the 3 names, without any context, I would choose Alexander Charles. But if you want something fairly distinctive, like Jessa, I'd say go with Sebastian. Another way to go would be name your son Alexander, but give him a more distinctive nn than the ubiquitous Alex. For example, he could go by Xander/Zander or Zan, instead!

Really like the name Jessa, by the way!

Hope this helps!

Jessa is so pretty; it deserves the perfect complement! Here are my thoughts-

Alexander is just too popular when compared to Jessa.

Jacob- Personally, I don't like same initials for sibs; I think it takes away from the individual appeal of each name. This one is also too popular for Jessa, IMO.

Sebastisan- I really like this name. I think it's a great fit with Jessa. However, a rule of thumb is not to run the ending of one part of the name into the beginning of another (the -n ending on Sebastian into the -n beginning of Nichols- would also apply to mn Allen with Nichols). To me, this is just a guideline. It would be up to you to say the name aloud and decide if it's still appealing to you.

Others-

Jessa Marie & Oliver Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Levi Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Rhett Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Ames Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Timothy Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Darren Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Garrett Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Roman Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Mitchell Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Abram Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Lucas Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Zane Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Theodore (Theo) Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Bradley Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Henry Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Grady Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Davis Allen Nichols

Jessa Marie & Nathaniel Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Holden Charles Nichols

Jessa Marie & Bryant Allen Nichols

*Jessa Marie & Liam Charles Nichols*

*Jessa Marie & Micah Charles Nichols*

*Jessa Marie & Graham Charles Nichols*

Let us know what you decide! Take care, Ginger

I agree - Sebastian!! It is unusual, just as Jessa is. The n's do sort of run together. But honestly, it wouldn't bother me enough not to use the name if I loved it.
