Name change

My daughter is 8 weeks old, we named her Imagene Cait-(pronounced Kate). When I tell people her name they think it is Emma Gene. This frustrates me. Especially when they start to call her Emma. I like the name Imogene and thought I would creatively spell it with an A. This bothers me so much that I am considering changing it to Imogene or Imogen. Is this wacky to change her name at 2 months old? Also my husband really likes Imogen but I can't decide. Is Imogene pronounced with gene or gen?

"It's IH-magene, not EH-magene," I would say politely and of course with a smile. lol
I don't like Imogen, however. For some reason it just doesn't sound right to me! Like how someone would mispronounce the word imagine. KWIM?
Keep Imagene, is my vote
Good Luck

Thank you!!

Well, I'm not crazy about the way you spelled it

However I am not crazy about your spelling (sorry) because when I see it on the page I imagine the phrase, "I'm a gene". Crazy I know, but my mind has a hard time with different spellings than the traditionally used variations!
As for my personal tastes...I don't care for Imagene/Imogene. I much prefer Imogen, which I pronounce "Imma-jen" not "gene" at the end. To me Imogene with the "gene" at the end sounds more old-fashioned (which could be good or bad depending on whether you like old fashioned names!) but with the name of Imogen I just think of European (mostly British or Aussie) girls/women.
BTW I completely agree with Stephanie, about MN Cait with your DD's FN...it is a beautiful combination of names!
