Hi guys,

i have decided to go with either Callum Farrelly or Rowan Farrelly.

I was wondering which sounds better to u. His brothers name is Liam. I did have Tristan on the list but thought that it's style wasn't quite mine.

So now that it's down to two what do u think?

Callum gmv but only because I love Rowan for girls but not for boys...sounds too soft and feminine for a girl IMO (the Rowan tree is a willowy gentle looking tree)...now if you were considering Roane or Rohan then I would have picked it over Callum...

I vote for Callum as well. Liam and Callum just sounds natural, whereas I stumble over Liam and Rowan. Of course...I stumble over the name Rowan itself lol!

Good luck

I prefer Rowan. Strong name. Sounds good with Liam, but isn't matchy.

Callum is a great name, too. Callum Farrelly isn't completely over the top, but the double ll's are a bit much. Take care, Ginger

I love all three names; Rowan, Callum, Tristan. I do prefer Rowan for girls normally (my DD Natalie's MN is Rowan) but with brother Liam, I like Rowan a lot. If you had a son named, say, Thomas, or Drake, and were planning to name DS #2 Rowan, I would be totally on the other end of the spectrum regarding it as I think it would sound way too feminine next to very traditional masculine names. But Liam is sufficiently "different" and I think together Liam & Rowan would work well, it would make your naming style clear.

Even though Callum has a distinctly different ending than Liam, I think they are too close for brothers and some people would slur both names and they would sound even more similar.

I don't know if Tristan is totally out of the running but I like it also!

Good luck!

Well, I like Callum much better than Rowan, but vote for Rowan, since I think Liam and Callum sound too rhymey for brothers (although both great names). Have you considered Calvin, Calhoun, or Callahan instead? Just a thought. Rowan sounds good with Liam, too. Good luck!

I like Rowan, but have heard it used many times for a girl lately. ( Girls seem to take all the interesting names:-) So, I'd go with Callum. I love Liam, I've always wanted to use that name someday. Have you considered other Irish/Celtic names that would compliment Liam?

I just don't like Callum---sounds like a body-part or something.

Rowen is becomming more feminine sounding since Brooke Shields named her daughter that.

Love the name Rowan! I had no idea it was being used by girls. It is such a strong, masculine sounding name to me. I think it sounds great with Liam. Callum and Liam sound too similar to me to be brothers.

Best of luck,

Dana
