Nah I don't think initials BS would be a problem at all. Plus, if you give her a MN that will change it a bit too (for monograms, if that is a possibility).
I think some people place too much emphasis on initials when naming their children. I've heard people complain (not on this board particularly, but on ivillage) that they can't use such and such name because their child's initials would be CAT or VCR. I don't see the problem! Now if it was going to be SEX, PIG, etc...then I could understand a bit of name-tweaking to change it.
Well, as someone else who has a last name that starts with an S I would so don't do it. I know with my job I used to have to initial every document showing i had signed off on it, I'm glad I wasn't writting BS 20x a day. To me it just meant I never comsidered any names starting with B or S (I don't like the alliteration of them both beginnig w/ the same letter). I never embraced a B name for that reason.
However, if Brooke is the name you love them use it, it isn't a huge deal (like giving initials of ASS, also a problem with an S for a last name), but enough of a turn off for me to avoid it.
I don't think you should base her name on her initials....something like BS is not that bad! Maybe if it was ASS or SOB....but BS and figure in her middle name there, I don't see a big deal :)
Nah, not a big deal. Brooke Shields has those initials, and there were at least 2-3 kids in my class with the initials BS. It came up now and then, but it wasn't really something to make fun of -- just something that was kinda funny. Just my 2 cents...
i agree, that initials important if something that could be mean, nasty, inuendo
(as mentioned, CAT or VCR things like that wouldnt bother me.. but RAG PAD SEX ASS BUT DIC DIK DIQ DYK PIK TIT TYT.. get the idea, would be a no-no for me)
Hey Sweetie,
Personally, I would advise against it.
