Hi!
I am due in less than two weeks. Getting very excited... and uncomfortable... The biggest challenge we are having is picking names.
I am looking for some opinions other than just my husbands. We are starting to second guess every name we think of.
Our two top picks are...
Girl: Elliott
Boy: Jagger or Jaeger
Can't wait to hear some other opinions on our choices.
Thank you.

First, congratulations on your upcoming bundle of joy! Two weeks may seem like a lot but it will go by fast.

I'm not a fan of using boy's names for a girl. As a matter of fact, I hate it! My best friend's boy is an Elliot, I can't imagine a girl being called that. There are soooo many lovely girl names out there.

Jagger or Jaeger is not my style but if you and your dh love it, go for it.

Best of luck with the birth.

I like Jager, either spelling, but think Elliot is too boyish for a girl. Sorry. Wishing you a comfortable last 2 weeks...know how rough that time can get! :)

I don't really like either. I love Elliott for a boy, but if you must name a girl this, why not Elliette?

Jagger is cute, if you pair it with a traditional middle name. For example, Jagger Thomas. I think it's neat. But if you put a wild middle name with it would be too over the top.

Elliott is aweful on a girl, sorry. I don't think your daughter will be too pleased with you in the long run. Are you looking to use the nickname Elli/Ellie? Why not try Eleanor, Elisabeth, Eliza, etc.

It's so tricky waiting at this point! Well, at least for the first baby it is...

I have to agree that I don't really like either of the names. I seem to know a fair number of Elliot's, but they're all boys. Why not Ellen, or Eleanor, if you're looking for an El type name?

For the Jagger or Jaeger - I don't know. Big Rolling Stones fan? That would be my first question! Jaeger means Hunter in german, perhaps Hunter? I don't really love that name, but I think it's better than Jaeger. I notice Jaeger also means " rapacious seabird that pursues weaker birds to make them drop their prey" (not what I'd be going for with my baby).

Just did a google for Jagger type names - "Many people can claim "Papa was a Rolling Stone." Among them are: his daughter with Marsha Hunt, Karis Jagger; his daughter with ex-wife Bianca Jagger, Jade Jagger; his children with ex-wife Jerry Hall, Elizabeth Scarlett Jagger, Georgia May Ayeesha Jagger, James Leroy Jagger, and Gabriel Luke Beauregard Jagger; and his son with Brazilian model Luciana Giminez Morad. He is also grandfather of Jade Jagger's children, Assisi and Amba."

good luck!

Sarah

Congrats on being only 2 weeks away from your due date! How exciting! For names, I am sorry but both are nmsaa. Elliot, to me, is all boy. I personally like obvious girl names for little girls. And Jagger is nmsaa, either. I know this post is no help! sorry. some suggestions:

girl:

Peyton
Morgan
Avary
Riley

Boy:

Joss
Jesse
Joel
Jamison

Almost there! My thoughts on your names:

Elliott is NMSAA for a gilr. I love love this name on a little boy, but cannot understand the desire to name a girl Elliott.

Jagger has such a image already with Mich that it is hard to get away from and like a previous poster said the name itself sounds kind of violent. is Jeager pronounced with a Y sound, like Yeager? If so I do like that, much better than Jagger. Good luck!
