DH is DEAD SET on naming our daughter Amy. In all honesty, what are your thoughts on the name (besides the fact that it very well may be YOUR name)? ; )

Thanks!

I actually love the name...it would be in our top choices for another girl if it were to ever happen. My BF from high school was Amy Elyse and I LOVE it! Good luck and whatver you choose will be beautiful!

It's very pretty, simple and nostalgic and unusual in the nursery set these days so to the ears of her classmates it'll be far more exotic than it was to those of us who grew up in the 70's ;o)

Well, it is my name and I've always loved it! It was popular when I was growing up but now I don't meet too many of them. It is short, sweet, feminine and pretty. I think it is a name for a spunky girl! (I am one myself! :) ) I like too that it's not popular right now-it would stand out. Good luck!

Well, it *is* my name, but I know some people don't like their names. I actually have always liked my name. Dh, on the other hand, hates his name and doesn't even like his nn (his name is Jeremy, but he has always been called Jerry). Amy isn't as popular as it was when I was being named ;-), but that's actually, IMO, a good thing.

Good luck w/whatever you end up deciding!

I just think it's kind of boring.

I LOVE it! It would be a top contender (like #1 or #2) for our little girl we're expecting but for the fact it sounds awful with our last name. It's pretty, classic, feminine, easy to spell, easily recognizable, easy to pronounce and at the same time there will not be 3 other Amy's in her class. So it's a bit unusual at the same time - Pefect! We're probably going to go with Laura for those exact same reasons.

I think amy is a nice name, I had a neighbor named amy but what made it more interesting, was that she spelled it different . Aimee I think it puts a nice twist on a simple name.

I think Amy is nice. It's simple and pretty, although it does have an 80s ring to it just b/c it was so popular then. If you aren't thrilled with it, you could always name her Amelia or Amalie or Amanda or something similar and call her Amy for short.

Just a thought...
Stephanie
