This name combines all the necessary names needed to honor the people we want to in our family. Is it terrible?

You have someone in your family named Apple? Is it Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter? I don't think I would even attempt to use Apple in current times-everyone will assume you copied Gwyneth. Not flattering-plus,...APPLE???? Would you want that name yourself? If not, you probably shouldn't give it to your daughter. Also, three names is a bit much-and also what Gwyneth did. Hmmm.... I do think Sarah Johanna is very pretty! Good luck!

I'm hoping this is just some sort of sarcasm connected to the celebrity baby Apple.

I like the Johanna. too many Sarah's around, too common, too plain.

I find it quite appealing. I love the name Johanna.
Sarah Johanna, as a double name would be very pretty too.

Good luck, Ginger

Sarah and Johanna are the grandmothers. Apple is my husband's choice it's a shortened version of Appleton - for May Appleton Parish.

I personally don't care for three names, but that and the "Apple" thing aside, I'm not sure this is the prettiest combination with all the short a's. Based on your response as to the source of "Apple", may I suggest Sarah May Johanna or Sarah Johanna Parish?

As far as Apple goes, I just can't see saddling a child with the first name of Apple, even if it's to honor someone. If your last name is Greene (as screen name implies), Apple Greene would be hard to live with, I think.

Good luck - I respect your wish to honor loved ones in your life, but please reconsider the Apple part.

I know I'm in the minority, but I have to say that I like Apple as a name.

Raiding the pantry is really no different that raiding the garden (Lily, Daisy...) or raiding the atlas (Dylan, Dakota, Cheyenne...).

I tend to like very conservative, old fashioned names. I usually dislike a name once I hear it all over the place (trendy), and I hate weird spellings. So it's odd that I would like Apple. But I do. So go figure.

Anyway, as long as it's spelling correctly, I like Apple.

However, there is no flow with Apple Sarah Johanna. Sarah Johanna is nice. I also like Sarah Johanna Apple as well (having Apple as a mn wouldn't bother as many people, I guess).

As far as nicknames go (for your later post), I prefer using Sadie for Sarah or Josie for Johanna, although I'm not sure Josie is a correct name for Johanna.

Good luck!

What's wrong with three names? Both of my girls have three names and the baby on the way will as well. I have a Lindy Susan Rose she goes by Lindy Sue when she wants to use a middle name and a Geri Sue Ann. Both of which are named for my mom and Geri is named for her grandfather who died 4 months before she was born. I think it is great to name a child to honor those in your family whether it be a first name or surname honor. Auralee

Now that you've explained, I have other ideas-

Appleton has potential. In fact, I'd call her Appleton as opposed to Apple, I think... Though I must dissent from the popular opinion here anyway. Apple has some distant, gnawing appeal for me. What would hold me back is being on the heels of Gwyneth Paltrow.

Sarah Appleton Johanna has better flow, to me- nn- Sadie, Sally?

Sarah Anna Appleton

Sarah Hanna Appleton

My very fave is Sarah Johanna Appleton called Sarah Johanna or Sarah Jo.
By the way, what are g-mas other names?

Take care, Ginger

I actually love the combo...but is your last name really Greene? Cause if it is....don't do it. Apple Greene is bad. Sorry!
