help with name, want a car reference

Our families are very into racing, and cars. Me, DH, DBrother, DFather, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc.

I would like a name that has some sort, even if very obscure, of a car reference.

I have thought of names with car in it.... Carson, Carly, but am really looking for something more creative.

Thought of the typical car names...Mercedes, Porche, but don't really want that unless it is an older car that people wouldn't imediately think of that car. (Hudson, Nash)

Our last name starts with B, so anything that ends with B doesn't sound right.

Any ideas?

well, I have a granddaughter named Sienna, like the Toyota Sienna, which is a family van, so not too much like auto racing. She wasn't named that because of the Toyota though.

also there is a GMC Sierra, which is more like an SUV.

what about the actual names of some of the race car drivers that they like. it's not something I'm overly familiar with, except for the household names like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Michael Waltrip, and now I'm drawing a blank even though I know more than those three

I wouldn't force this issue though if I were you. find a name you really like. the child deserves that.

good luck

We will definitely go with something we both absolutely love, even if it doesn't have a car reference but if I can find something that does that's great.

I like both Sienna and Sierra.

That is funny you are doing this. We are considering our next baby having the initials N.C. for "Nextel Cup". Our dd is named after my dh's fav hobby, snowmobiling. We did it descretely though, her name is Alyssa Claire, A.C. = Arctic Cat. :)

Anyhow...let's see what I can come up with. I really like the names Carly and Carson too. OR...
A friend of ours named their son Cole after Cole Trickle from Days of Thuder...discrete.
Also, Gordon (Jeff Gordon)? My dh at one time brought up Chevy?

Kinda blank other than that. BEST WISHES!

Interesting idea.

I have to say that I like Ford quite a bit as a FN. I don't know why, it just sounds nice and strong and a bit traditional to my ear--and it's certainly not too crazy. It actually is a river crossing, of course. I think it's my fave.

Possible other options that are a bit more out there: Vette (for a girl), Monte (for a boy--for Monte Carlo-- so I guess you could do Carlo if it suited...), Bird (for a girl--as a nod to the best car ever--the Thunderbird), Jagger (for a boy as an homage to Jaguar--but it's a big stretch), Mitsubishi has a Lancer, which would work for a boy. The Aston Martin offers up two boy names options in one car. Volkswagen Karmann Ghia offers two girl names--Ghia is especially nice. Tucker is a great vintage car.

Hope this list sparks something!
Keep us posted!

Well, I once knew a girl who was named Targa after her uncle's Porsche.

Try Carmen or Carmine. Both work well for a boy or girl.

They're a bit esoteric:
Holden (Australian subsidiary of GM, new Pontiac GTO = Holden Monaro)
Tucker (Preston Tucker, Tucker Auto, invented the 'car of the future' in 1948)
Elise (Lotus)
