We are having a DD in September, and decided on Sophia Elise (nn sophie.) I love the name but I'm concerned that it's too popular. What do you think? Should we just go with it, or pick something else? Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I agree...........IF YOU LOVE IT, GO FOR IT!
I think that it is a classic beauty and I love Elise with it! (and I don't think it is THAT popular)
Good luck!!

This is from the social security site. It was 15th in 2004 - that's pretty high. I personally am only hearing a few here and there in my area. I like the name, it's one of the few older/traditional/classic types that I like. It's very pretty. You just have to decide yourself about the popularity issue
good luck
Sophia Elise is very pretty!
Sophia has gotten hugely popular where I live. I think it's going to be the "Ashley" of this generation- at least in the well-heeled suburbs of NYC.
Congratulations on your baby girl! - We have a 6 year old Sophia (Sophie) so I will warn you that we know of at least 6 other Sophias, and if you check hospital websites and expecting boards it seems to me like Sophia is the hot name the past few months - having said that, I love Sophie's name, but she does seem to be a grade ahead of the other Sophia's so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me so much - I also have a 21 month old Ava and if one more person says, "Oh, we know an Ava." or "My friend is going to name her baby Ava.", I might just scream! LOL
Just something to think about, but if you truly love the name you choose, popularity doesn't matter as much as you think it will.
Good luck to you!
