I see it and I have no idea which of three ways to pronounce it. Is it Jo-ella, Joel-la or Hoe-ella (Spanish)? I like Jo-ella, but am not fond of the other pronounciations.
I don't think I know anyone with the name. I know a Mary Jo whose middle name is actually Joelle
I think it's reasonably cute. different. you won't hear it a lot. I just hope if you use it the temptation to call her Ellie doesn't take over. Ellie is being used as a nn for too many names lately
I only know of one girl in my daughter's elementary school with this name..
It's very pretty.
Here full name is Joella Audrey .
Other name combos ....
Joella Elizabeth
Joella Katherine
Joella Margaret
Joella Lauren/Laurel
Joella Therese
Joella Nicole
Joella Elaine
Joella Renee
Joella Patrice
Joella Grace
Joella Diane
Joella Marie
Joella Kristine/Christine
Joella Jane
Joella Jeannine
HTH,
Donna
mom to Alexandra, Samantha & Gabriella
It is not a BAD name, just probably the least attractive to me of the Ellie names. I really like the NN Ellie.

good luck
I know a Joelle, but no Joella's. She went by Joey as a little girl which was kinda cute since she was a bit of a tomboy.
It's NMS, but if you like it, go for it! I don't see anything inherently wrong with it.
