I voted for Henry. Simple, sweet Henry. Henri I always want to pronounce the French way and that sounds nothing like sweet Henry. (and I'm not French!)

Good point...I never thought of that! Thank you.

I agree about the pronounciation. If I saw Henry I would pronounce it "Hen-ry." If I saw Henri I would pronounce it "On-ry." How do you want it pronounced?

Are you French or just kidding around? Henry is suitable if you live in the US, UK or Australia. I assume you ARE determining that it is a man's name and trying it on a little lady?

No, we're not french we are hebrew. I was just thinking of Henri being an alternate spelling said the same way as Henry....certainly not for a girl at all. We're not sure if we're having a boy or a girl so we need a name for both a boy and a girl.

Thank you all for your help...if we use the the name Henry it will be spelled with a "y".

I think adding an i to the end of any male name makes it too feminine for a male to use. I would assume (incorrectly) that Henri was a girl and Henry was a boy.
