My DH's cousin whom he is very close with, lost a baby for the second time yesterday. She was 22 weeks the first time and 18 weeks this time, for an unknown reason the baby's heart stopped beating.
My question is they named their boy Logan Ray. I would like to know if I should refrain from using this name for my baby? It was on my list of possible names. I would not want to upset anyone in the family.

Thanks

Yes, I think it best to refrain from using the name. Especially since it would be so close to the time when she lost her baby--maybe if it had been several years or something like that, it wouldn't be so touchy. For her feelings, I think it best to move on to the next name on your list.

When all else fails ask them how they would feel if you used the name. I think it might be kind of a bad idea since you are close, but I have been know to be wrong a time or two. :) Good luck.

Like the other ladies said, I dont think it would be a good idea because its so close to the time she lost her baby. Maybe as a middle name it would be fine because it would be kind of in honor of her son. But if you really like the name, just talk to her.

no, you should not use that name under any circumstances

I agree. If you got pregnant sometime in the future (I'm talking years here) and wanted to use Logan or Ray (definitely not the two names together) then I would revisit the situation. But right now I would definitely steer clear of the name.

Good luck finding the one :)

What if you just use Logan, not Ray?

To clarify I only had Logan on my list not Logan Ray. Sorry if that was confusing.

I would definetly refrain from using it. That wouldn't be fair, and it would just make them upset. No way.

That is a hard decision. First, I am sorry for her!! I personally would steer clear of that name, or use the name Logan as a middle name, so it worldn't be too much of a reminder.

I agree, I would not use the name...in any form.
