I like the name Cadence, especially if your family has a strong musical connection (rather than just liking the sound of the name). I would spell it this way though. Skye is nms, but the two do sound fine together. HTH! :)

I don't mind Cadence spelled with a C, but to me it looks really strange with a K

but you also have a middle name problem - Cadence (any spelling) ends in the S sound, then you go straight into Skye which starts with the S sound.

that's always a bad idea.

so my suggestion to you is if you really love the name Cadence, change it to a C, but pick another middle name

if you're not going for family names, here would be my suggestions:

Cadence Amber, Cadence Brielle, Cadence Brynn, Cadence Joelle, Cadence Lynelle, Cadence Michelle, Cadence Monique, Cadence Nicole, Cadence Noelle

good luck

Actually, I think it is awesome spelled with a K.

You can call her K.D. (cute version of Katie) or Kay or Kade. I absolutely love it and think it is very universal. Right now in Wisconsin, Cadence is the #5 name this year.

You don't want to spell it just like every other parent in the name of appearing "well educated, sophisticated, smart" and not "young, uneducated parents who wanted a cute trendy name but didn't consider how it would affect her child" or something to that affect (a post I read somewhere on this board regarding trendy names vs. traditional names). I'm just glad you aren't considering an old lady name like most of the people I've encountered these days!

And trust me, I'm no spring chicken with a middle name like Inez. I hear an old lady name and I think of that child's future. Right after they introduce themselves to someone new and see the look on that person's face they say, "Yeah, my parents hated me". LOL But I think of that same situation with a name like Keo Nevada or some other "uber trendy name". LOL

All in good fun, of course!

I think Kadence is a beautiful name. In fact, it's my fist choice right now for my baby, only spelled different. I think it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL with the mn Skye, but I'd have to agree that you may have an issue with poeple just rolling the names together with the "S" sound ending one and beginning the next.

I also think the spelling is perfect, if for no other reason than because that's how you want to. But then again, I'm all for alternate spellings, within reason. With my children I obsessed about deciding the spelling almost as much as deciding on the name itself!!! Maybe being named Sommer Rae myself has something to do with my love for unique names. Hmmm...

Anyhow, I love the name, and what matters most is if when she's born you look at her and you just know she's Kadence Skye.
