Is this name girly at all?

Hubby and I have decided on three names that we really like. I'm due in March.
The names are:

Cassidy
Raegan
Sage

I'm wondering if Sage sounds girly to anyone? The name would be Sage Renee (our last name is 9 letters...it sounds good with it) but we have two boys already so I'm kinda wanting a girly/pretty sounding name so people won't think I have three boys! I like the name Raegan but HATE a girl with that name from college days and don't really think I can use it without the negative thoughts. Hubby's favorite is Cassidy but I think it is a little long and I'm not sure if I can picture myself saying it for the rest of my life.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I think Sage definitely says girl loud and clear. It kind of evokes the idea of something very clean and natural and sweet for me... I think it's great!!!

Hi Julie.

I think Sage is a girl name. When you hear it - you think girl. Reagan to me seems more like a boy name - nms for

Of your three, Reagan is my favorite, but like you I have a terrible association with it. I definitely like Sage better than Cassidy. I think Cassidy is cute, but it doesn't seem like a name that ages well to me. Adorable for a little girl, not so great for an adult. Also I think it was really trendy for awhile, which dates it. I definitely think of Sage as a girl's name and if I heard it with your two boys' names, I would know immediately that you have two boys and a girl.

Sage is a beautiful name! It's not super girly, but it's definitely a girls name.

First of all, congratulations. I like the name Sage, but it may not be "girly" enough for you if you already have two boys. My name is Cassidy and I've always loved it (where some people grow up hating their name). I'm 29 so I knew no other Cassidys growing up and I liked that. It is becoming more popular and I hear moms calling for Cassidy when I'm out shopping and it has been hard to get used to. My maiden name and married name both have two syllables so my name is kind of long, but if you stick to a short one syllable name for the middle name, you may grow to like it more. Hope this helps. Good luck.

My cousin named her son Sage. Other than that I've never heard it used.

I like Sage a lot and think it sounds quite girly. I could definetly NOT picture it on a boy. I like both Cassidy and Raegan, but IMO Sage is the nicest.

Since your name is Cassidy I have a question for you. Let me start by telling you that Cassidy is our favorite name but I have one concern about it. I don't like the name Cassie. Do people often mispronounce your name and call you Cassie. Cassidy Renee was the name we had picked out 2 1/2 yrs ago when our second son was born (if he were a girl) and it is still our favorite I just am not a big fan of picking such a beautiful name and having people calling her the wrong name. I also don't want my husband using a nickname of Cassie for her either since he's more the nicknamer in our family...he always calls Spencer by Spence and Brenden by Bren so what can he call Cassidy if he shortens it?

Thanks for your input. You are the only adult Cassidy I've come across. It is funny how names come around again 10-20 years later or more, names that I never knew were older names at all! I'm also 29 and my name is coming back again, but as Julia not Julie. And I found out that Connor (the boy name we've picked this time) is the name of a 90 year old relative from my family...never knew that! I'd never heard Cassidy before 10 years ago and then I heard Kassidy from the girl country group SheDaisy!

Thanks again!

I like all three of those names. They are actually on my list of names that I am considering. It was a shock to see them grouped together on someone elses' list. I think they are all girly names, but I did wonder about Raegan also. I never get good feedback on that one. They either say Ronald Reagan or Raegan from the Exorsist. Another name I like that is gender neutral is Riley. My mother-in-law hates it though. Renee goes well with Sage. Don't know which is my favorite yet.

All honesty, i like that name, i am due exactly a week, and we have the name Kadence Skye picked out for our little girl, Cadence, just looked too plain, so i am using a K. and skye is a girl i went to school with. Sage is really pretty. i have a niece named paige, but sage heard i think of herbs and spice, and I hope that she spices up your life. Brenden, spencer and sage, i think those sound great together. but, names sounding together doesn't make the name, its the person that makes the name. i went for the unique and non common names, we had phoenix picked out for a boy, Phoenix Colorado is what DH decided. we did have Hemi picked out for a girl, but like you said, the nicknames, Hemroid, adn didnt want boys coming or calling to ask to take our hemi for a test drive. DH wasnt happy after someone mentioned that.
