Well, I'm finally pregnant!

After more than three years of ttc and a year of infertility tests and fertility treatments, I'm finally expecting our first child. I'm eight weeks pregnant now although it's only been 44 days since we had the IUI so technically the baby is only 6 weeks. I saw the heartbeat last Monday. I have another appointment tomorrow morning. I'm labeled high risk due to age, hypothyroidism, and some minor complications I'm having (nothing serious thank God). We're still being cautious about spreading the news to family and friends. We've only told our parents, siblings, and my grandmother, and a few very, very close friends who have been our shoulders to lean on during the difficult months we've had these past few years.

I'm dying to discuss baby names but dh won't until we can find out the sex. AARRRGGGHHH!!

So, I'm going to turn to these boards to get my fix until he's ready to talk names.

Right now the following names are on MY lists:

Gabriel, Nathaniel, Oliver

Madeleine, Amelia, Charlotte, Delilah, Lillian, Lila, Gabrielle, Hannah, Isabel, Olivia

Some others that I might consider for girls are:

Corinne, Emma, Katherine, Eloise, Sophia

Anyone have any suggestions? I really like the old fashioned names, especially for girls but nothing too unusual. For boys I like more traditional names. I'm not really into the Brayden, Hayden, etc thing. I like names that sound more masculine. Some that I love but can't use due to family already using them are Joseph, Nicholas, Michael.

I'd love some ideas.

TIA,
Stephanie

Congrats on your pregnancy!!!! What great Christmas news, eh?
Out of your list, I love all 3 boys names. I would never have thought that I would like Oliver, but the name is growing on me so much.
FOr girls, I really like Amelia, Eloise, and Charlotte. Others that I favor are Elayna, Alanna, and Lydia.

Good luck and Congrats again!

HI, Congratulations!! I find it so hard to pick a name and I think I am similar to you. I like traditional names. My son is 3 and his name is Sam and my daughter is 2 and her name is Claire. I must say I get sooo many compliments on Claire and if this baby is a girl her name is going to be Lauren. As for a boy I am clueless but there are so many people on this board that have given me great suggestions. Good Luck.

I love all the names on your list and can't think of anything better. its the exact same style I like. Of your choices, I like Amelia and Gabriel the best.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!!! I hope that it goes very well! I like all your name choices, we have the same tastes in names. I especially like Nathaniel, that is what we have picked out for a boy if we have one. We will call him Nathaniel or Nate (not Nathan as that is too common in our area). For a girl we have Leah picked out, which I absolutely love, we had it picked out since day one. I also like lily, Madeline and Sophie. Good luck!!
