Thank you to everyone for your votes and advice!!! We were looking for a contemporary name that would not easily be combined with Belle, and that was not very popular. Our choice might surprise you :)
Our final three list was Elise, Anika and Teagan. Elise and Anika were too close to Eliana/Ani and we thought we settled on Teagan but then I talked to my grandmother. The Belle came in from dh's grandmother and my paternal great-grandmother. I thought my great-grandmother's name was Bertha and that she went by Bella. My grandmother said her name was Bertha and she didn't go by Bella. So, I went to dh and said that Belle would strictly be in honor of his grandmother now because of the Bertha thing. I told him the other names from my side of the family and he SHOCKED me with the one he liked best. I was even more surprised that he was okay with using a family name. In the beginning he didn't want to use any family names, now we'll have two. I didn't even have to convince him of this one :)
So we chose my paternal grandmother's first name and his maternal grandmother's middle name.
Now that I have rambled, here is the name... Yvette Belle R.
Yvette definitely does not fit the bill as being contemporary, however it isn't very commonly used and the nicknames are pretty contemporary(if we even use one). My grandparents and my dad flipped out. They are all so excited. I was a little concerned because my grandfather was raised in a Jewish family and the tradition is to name after the dead. He converted to Christianity in WWII but I know he still cherishes a lot of the traditions of his past. BUT, he is very happy and not at all uncomfortable with the naming.
More rambling....SORRY! What do you all think?

I like it.
Just read your reply below and came here to hear more. ;)
Love the name and personal meaning. Great choice. I am curious what nn(s) you plan on using, if any (since you mentioned it). Yve(s)/Eve, Yvie/Evie, Vetta, etc.?

My first thought is Yvie or Yve.
