I think it's a very pretty name and it may be sticking for a reason. Even if it's a bit common, who cares once you love it?

Dh seems to be prity set on it tells me he really likes it. But me being the one that always has a hard time deciding on things i keep going back and forth on it. Im worried im gonna give her a rediclaus sounding name or somethng thats not respectable.

It's a lovely name. I certainly don't think anyone will think it's ridiculous. Both names are classic and they sound good together. Alyssa is fairly common, so she may have a classmate with her name once in a while, but it's not in the top 10 and has been pretty stable in its rank since the early '90s. I doubt you'll suddenly find that half the girls in her class are called Alyssa. Alyssa and Christine are the standard spellings for the names, so most people will have no trouble spelling her name.

If your dh is in agreement, I think you've found your name!

Alyssa ties w/ Marissa as my current fav girl name. I think Alyssa Christine sounds fine, although Christine isn't a name I would have chosen unless it was meaningful to me. But Alyssa is all thumbs up to me!

What do you mean by "respectable"? You've voiced that concern twice already. I think Alyssa and Christine are both pretty names, and they go well together. They might be fairly common, but like was already said, I doubt she'll have more than one other person in her classes with her name. Even if she does, there are plenty of nicknames she can choose to go by, to distinguish herself.

Also, congratulations on going with traditional spellings! I think what would have been ridiculous about those names, would be if you had tried to make them "unique" by changing the spelling beyond all recognition.

If you and your dh both love the name, I think that's all that matters, really.

im totally good with the name christine i love thats its my moms middle name. and i like the way it sounds. But im on the fence about alyssa (i honestly dident know thier was another way to spell it and is thier another spelling of christine lol.) Im prity traditional so i guess thats why im a little unshure of alyssa it seems to be one of those trendy names. thanks for the opinions at least it doesent sound funkie together.

I think Christine as the mn is a great way to honor your mom; it is a family name for me too, so I might use it as a mn for a future daughter.

Alyssa is really not my style. It does seem a little dated to me, and the only young Alyssa I know is a real brat (of course personal association always ruins names)! I prefer something a little more classic. It's certainly not a terrible choice, whatever you decide.

Here are some names you might like:

Elise Christine
Alanna Christine
Elena (pron. like Eh-lane-ah) Christine
Eloise Christine
Ainsley Christine
Adrienne Christine
Alice Christine
Alexa Christine
Amelia Christine
Amaya Christine
Amaris Christine
Arabella Christine
Annabel Christine

Good luck with everything!
