I'm sorry to have to say this

I was having some concerns with this pregnancy, so I went to see the ob Doc yesterday. Ultrasound showed no heartbeat at 12 weeks. I was hoping and praying overnight that my dates were somehow off, but Doc called today to confirm with HCG levels. I can't believe that i have to go thru this again. He wants to see my the end of next week to have another ultrasound and I am thinking to then schedule a d&c. I always thought a miscarriage would be easier to deal with once you already had children. (Our first miscarraige was before we had Brendan) BUt I can tell you now, it hurts just as bad. For being an unplanned pregnancy, I am having a hard time now just thinking about how much we had already been planning our lives around this new little one.

Thanks for lettng me use this as my sounding board. I am trying to hold it together for the boys, but its very hard on me.

((((Theresa))))

I miscarried about a month ago, at about 11 weeks. I'm so sorry. I know what you mean about it not being any easier -- I had a "blighted ovum" which means I'd conceived, implanted and a placenta formed; but then no baby ever formed after that. Some say, and maybe it's a little true, that this knowledge makes it "easier". But like you, we were surprised by this pregnancy yet genuinely looking forward to greeting him/her in the fall.

I pray you will spontaneously complete the misccarriage without a D&C. And that God will comfort your heart at this time.

Theresa,

I'm so sorry. There's no way to compare sorrow to sorrow, but I lost my mother recently, and I know how utterly devastating loss can be.

Take good care of yourself and take the joy that you can in your beautiful babies.

You will be in my thoughts.

Oh, I am so sorry. I do know how you feel ... after 3 perfectly healthy pregnancies I discovered my 4th was a blighted ovum (type of miscarriage) at 12 weeks also. It wasn't a planned pregnancy but it was very hard & I still get teary sometimes, even now after about 5 years (& another healthy baby!).

I'm so sorry.. I also miscarried my second pregnancy (have one dd) and yes, it hurts a lot even if you do have a child already. In some ways, it may hurt more...you know better what you missed out on. I will pray for you-- I know once I had my d&c, I did feel like it was officially over. In some ways, that was better...in other ways, worse. I have gone on to have a successful pregnancy...32 weeks now so don't lose all hope. I know right now you just have to grieve but eventually, you will feel more yourself and can decide whether you want to try again.

Best,
Jane
