I think it's cute! I like that Grace is being used because it's a family name, and not because it's trendy. It's more refreshing as a fn than as a mn, too. Jospeh and Elise sound well together!

Honestly, although the names are very nice individually, I find both of them very heavy on the "S" sound, especially since the last name begins with an S also. Hope noone has a lisp!

Joseph is an ok name but I'm not in love w/ it. I DO, however, love Elise. I think Joseph & Elise are good together.

all is good names. but why give Grace as first name if not going to go by it? why not switch to Elise Grace? flow is no different either way. however, for me, a bit too rhymy as Grace Elise or Elise Grace.. but still a very good name.

I don't think it's weird to call a child by their middle name. My brother goes by his mn instead of is fn, and always has.

I really like Joseph and Elise but would drop Grace- too overdone. If they will call her Elise, why not just use that as her first name?

I have to agree that it's a little heavy on the s's, but I don't think it's TOO much (unless the ln is sasser or something with more than 1 s-sound). But I just had to chime in because I LOVE Gus as a nn. So cute!! :)

I think they're pretty S-heavy as well ... definitely woudn't recommend these if they weren't honoring close family with them (of course, if these are names many generations removed, and not for actual people they know and love and want to honor, then I could easily do without the "family names" ).

Joseph and Grace aren't really my style -- nothing wrong with them, just not that interesting to me -- but I LOVE Augustus (especially with the nn Gus!), and Elise is always lovely.

I think it's very heavy on the S sound in all three names for both kids too. They are all lovely names, however, I do agree it's strange to name a child and already know they're going to call them by the middle name. What's the point in doing that? My grandmother has always gone by her middle name and begged her mom to call her by her first name her entire life, but she refused. So that has always stuck with me.
