Hi everyone,
I'm new here, and appreciate everyone's help and opinions! I already have one boy and one girl and am epecting a third (gender unknown). We have lots of girl names that we love, and only a few boy names. One boy name that I'm in love with, but I'm not sure what other people will think of, is Covey. What do you think?

I know a little boy named Kavi pronounced Covey (an Indian name). I think it's a great name. What are your other kids' names?

My other kids names are Hannah and Catcher. We're pretty open to different names, but also don't want to give the poor kid anything wacky.

I do think the style works with brother Catcher, but dislike that they would both have names beginning with a C- I think it takes away from the indivuality of the names. JMO.

I assume it's pronounced CO-vee, with a long "o" sound & emphasis on 1st syllable. I've never heard of it. It sounds more like a nn to me, maybe to a name like Covington or something formal. I wouldn't say I'm too crazy about it but it's not offensive/too horrible either.

I'm not sure what the original poster had in mind, but the Kavi I know is pronouced "CUH-vee" (first syllable rhymes with glove). :)

I don't know if I like this name... yeah I agree it also takes away from your son Catcher... hmm how about Grover?

Then I definitely don't like it. To me it doesn't have a nice sound AND it'll frequently be mispronounced. I like CO-vee better than CUH-vee!

I'm not sure I described that right... think Willy McCovey (the Giants baseball player), without the Mc. So, it sounds like Cubby, but with a v sounds instad of a b.

Yes, I understood it earlier. I just don't like the sound of it ... maybe as a nn. I can't imagine calling someone by that name, though. But, remember, it's just my opinion.
