I definitely think Elliot is perfect with Avery and Calla. Owen is nice too, but I find Elliot more interesting.
Rather than just a boring mn that goes nicely with Elliot/Owen, why not use a family name or something a little less expected, KWIM? John, Ryan, and Jacob are really really common and don't add anything to the overall name.
Aw ... Avery and Calla are lovely (the names and the kids LOL). I also prefer Elliot with them (and in general, in terms of popularity), but I'd be tempted to use the equally-valid Eliot spelling and keep the five-letter connection. ;)
Ryan is my favorite of the mns you've listed. Are these family names, or just some you like? Just curious. ;) Either way, Eliot Ryan would easily get my vote, if it's an option.
I wouldn't be concerned about initials except to avoid particularly negative ones. For example, Piers Ian "Geezer" probably isn't the best combo out there.

First of all, I love your kids names.
My favorite is Owen. I love Owen Ryan, but can understand why the double ended n could be a problem. So, my second choice is Owen Jacob.
