Help! My husband and I are stuck. We can not seem to agree on a name for our baby boy due in a month. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
His brother is Xavier Michael Martinez, Dad likes Zachary Joseph and I like Gabriel Joseph. The problem is my husband doesn't care for Gabriel and I don't care for Zachary.
So we start over.
New possibilites all with middle name Joseph (that we can agree on)
Mine
Alexander
Nicholas
Anthony
Raphael
My husband
Santigo
Angelo
Alejandro
Diego
As you can see my husband is on Spanish theme except Zachary of course.
I would love the name of a saint since we kind of have that theme going and something that has it's Spanish roots but with an English pronunciation like Xavier is not Javier but derived from it. Anyway any ideas will be welcome. Thanks.

You seem to have some overlap in Alejandro/Alexander. I think Xavier and Alejandro or Alexander would be nice.
However, Alexander is a bit common compared to the standout Xavier. So maybe Alejandro would be better. I also like Raphael or Diego.
Maybe you both need to expand your lists a bit to see if you can find more overlap?

First I have to say I LOVE Xavier. And I love Anthony Joseph, but it doesn't sparkle like Xavier. I like Leo with Xavier, but not sure about Leo Joseph
Off the top of my cradle Catholic head some saints to go with Xavier. Joseph isn't the best fit with them all, but
Blaise
Simon
Dominic
Benedict

Damian-some people don't like it because of the Omen, but I went to school w/several

I think Alejandro is a nice compromise - you can always call him Alex. I also love Diego.
Other ideas:
Alonso
Andres (an-DRAYS, with the spanish accent over the e)
Cristobol
Cruz (means cross - not a saint, but in the theme)
Elias (form of Elijah)
Emilio
Gabriel (the same in English/Spanish, I believe)
Joaquin
Leandro
Lorenzo
Mateo
Mattias
Nicolas (Spanish accent on the a)
Samuel (same in English/Spanish)
Santos (means "saints") or Sancho
Tomas (accent on a)
AJ, enjoying life with C.
Angelo fits perfectly with your last name. How about Matthew Angelo or Angelo Matthew. Matt Martinez sounds like a solid masculine name. The Spanish pronunciation is Mateo.

Let me know if any of these help or if you would like more suggestions.
Good Luck!
If I had an Xavier, I think I'd chose Sebastian for the next boy.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. I think we are going with Andres with accent over the e. My husband's dad's name is Andrew and this is a deriviative of that. I appreciate your help.

I like Andres.
Some I was going to suggest:
Mateo & Xavier
Matias & Xavier
Rafael & Xavier
HI..,
Looking at your list, you both agree on Alexander with hubby chosing the spanish translation. Looking ahead to him being in school, the English pronounciation & spelling would be easier for teacher & his friends, as well as family members. Hubby could still give him the spanish version as a nickname or pet name.
