I can't add any suggestions on to what the PP said, but please convince them out of Dimothy- that is just awful!

I'm not a fan of the matching thing, especially taken to the extreme, but the thought of a child being named Dimothy compels me to respond with some suggestions.
Deandra
Deirdre
Dierdra
Delilah- Love this one
Devorah
Dannica/Dannika
Daphnie/Daphney- I usually hate misspelled/uniquely spelled names, but to stay away from Dimothy, I’d let this one side!
Doralie
Dorinda
Dorothy- Similar to Dimothy, but WAY better!
Dominie
Please let us know what name they end up picking. Fingers crossed it's not Dimothy!
-Annie
I have to agree with the pp ... I'm not into the DDDDDDDD thing at all, but to help the tyke avoid "Dimothy," I'll bite. LOL I think Donna already suggested Devanie (my second dd's name) ... looks close to Delaney, and I wouldn't use them for sibs myself, but they're not stressed the same (DEV-an-ee vs. de-LAYN-ee), so it might work for them. Especially given they LIKE the matchiness. LOL

Out of all the pp I like Desiree and Delilah the best. PLEASE try to convince them not to name that poor lil girl Dimothy. That is the worst made-up name I'VE EVER HEARD.
Not to mention two of their kids already have a VERY similar sounding name and then the next daughter would have her father's name with a D? So unimaginative.
These parents should type "baby names" into Google. If they did, they would find NUMEROUS links to web pages that list hundreds, even thousands of names. Most of the pages are searchable by first letter, among other search options, so they could find all the D names they could imagine and more, many of which have 7 letters. In about 20 seconds' time, I found the following names online (not counting names already mentioned by previous posters):
Damaris (I know a Damaris, she pronounces it da-MAR-iss when speaking English and more like da-mar-EESS when speaking Spanish, although I think originally this is a Greek name)
Darlene/Darlena
Darlita
Deborah
Demetra (this is a big favorite of mine)
Despina
Not all of these names are my style, but I would use any of them before I would ever even consider Dimothy. Dimothy sounds (to me) like a mean nickname to make fun of a Timothy, like Dim Timothy = Dimothy. I truly hope that they will choose something, anything other than Dimothy for their child.
Deandra
Desiree
Danelle
Delicia
Demetri
Delilah
PLEASE talk them out of it!
Sorry if any of these are repeat suggestions:
- Daciana
- Damaris
- Damiana
- Danette
- Daniela
- Daniele (I prefer these last two with two 'L's, but for the seven letter pattern, it works fine)
- Darlene
- Davinia
- Deborah
- Deirdre
- Delilah
- Delores
- Demeter
- Desiree
- Despina
- Devorah
- Diamond
- Dolores
- Donella
- Donelle
- Dorinda
- Dorothy
A lot of these are nms, but any of them would be better than Dimothy!
