I've heard this name before with that spelling and it was pronounced Tay-uh. The ay was pronounced the same as it is in the name Ray. I've always liked this name pronounced the way I've heard it.

I agree with the PP: Tay as in "ray" - ah. tay-ah.
It's a nice name. An accent can be a real PITA, though, if things aren't set up for it. I'm thinking of things like school rosters and so on - if it shows up just as Tea - then the teacher will automatically pronounce it as in the hot beverage (tea).
My son had a swimming teacher who was tay-ah and she spelled it Taya.

Siggy by the AMAZING Alicia at Momsquawk.com! Thanks!

My first thought on how to pron. it was to say Tee-ah. Sorry. Tay-ah is a very pretty name, though. You and other posts are right on the pron. issue, though, people (like me) will be saying it wrong. I like the other spelling someone suggested. Taya, or you could use Tayah. There is less room to say it wrong like that. Good Luck!

I think it's a pretty name (pronounced tay-uh) and that is how I would pronounce it if I saw it.

I love the name, but agree with the person who said you can't always get the accent typed above the 'e'.

Consider spelling her name Taya, as the name you suggested gets pronouned Tea, without the accent.
