Help..Baby girl name? Which one?
| Tue, 11-20-2007 - 8:35pm |
I'm having a baby girl and I've had the hardest time trying to find a name...I've found many beautiful, strong names for boys..but have had trouble finding the same for girls :/
Tell me what you think:
*Caiden (KAY-den)-----My boyfriend thinks this is too masculine. I don't agree, but then again I always loved my name, Jeramie (JER-emy)...which, I supppose, is masculine. I thought I could pair it with a feminine middle name.. The last name is Sill. Not an easy name for something to go with..do u think it's too masculine??????
*Shylah ---- I like it but I don't know.
Help anyone??
Also unique middle name ideas would help. Thanks sooo much.

Caiden- Not only is it a boy's name (so yes, masculine) but it is very trendy and on its way to outdated! I strongly suggest NOT to use it!! There are so many -aiden names (Aiden, Caden, Zayden, Hayden, Brayden, Vaden, etc.) and they are just SO overdone and I find them totally boring now.
Shylah- misspelled and trendy. Shiloh would be much better.
Here are some more uncommon names that don't appear misspelled or trendy for you to consider:
Faye
Gemma
Celeste
Tenley
Aurora or Lorelei nn Rory
Dagny
Brenna
Thea
Della
Sage
Maren "MARE-in"
Carys "CARE-iss"
Aila "AY-luh"
Scarlett
Jolie
Sasha
Tabitha
Calla
Ivy
Iris
Zoe
Shea "shay"
Larissa
Tallulah

I think Shylah is much prettier and also more unique. Caiden is similar to Caitlin & Katie (various spellings) which are very popular and also similar to all the "aiden" names (like Jaden, Braden, etc.) that are very popular and ultra trendy.
Shylah is sweet and feminine and I think it will grow up well.
Any spelling of Caden would be too masculine for my taste. I probably wouldn't use it for a boy, either, though, because it feels overdone to me. But then, I think I live in the Braden/Caden/Jaden/Caden capital of the world.
Shylah is not really my style, but it's quite pretty.
I really don't care for Caiden for a girl or boy because of it's popularity.
Neither one really rings my bell--Caiden is very masculine to me (though a former coworker has a granddaughter named Kaeden, it just still feels all boy to me..) and the -aidan names are hypertrendy right now. And Shylah sounds off with your last name to me--oddly enough, a bit like an over-the-counter medicine. A few newLar ideas:
Lorelei (to get a vowel ending that's less conducive to that medicinal sound that an "a" ending seems to give)
Kelaine (keh-layne...I had a roommate with this name and I think it's gorgeous, very elegant)
Larkin
Linden (a type of tree, such a great unisex name)
