My favorite from you list is Claire. I think it's such a beautiful feminine name and not so popular that there will be a ton of them in her class. I also like these names:

Julia

Iris

Lila

Laila

Georgia

Charlotte

Hth, good luck!

Wow, thanks so much for the input. This has REALLY helped me and has been very encouraging.

My favorite two from my list are definitely Hannah and Josephine. I am very hesitant to use Hannah because of how popular it is, but it has been my favorite name since I was a kid. I am also a little hesitant to use Josephine because my last name starts with J. Is the alliteration too much?

Your suggestions are all really amazing. Our naming problem is compounded by the fact that DH and I both have VERY large families and are trying not to use any duplicate names. Here are some of my favorites:

Iris - I really like this name but a friend of mine used Iris as a middle name so I'm not sure if I'm totally comfortable using it.

Anna - I love this, but my sister named her dog Anna. I really wish people would use human names for their animals :(

Ruby, Charlotte, Willa, Eleanor - I love these but I have friends who have used them in the last couple years.

Sylvia - I like this, but I'm pretty sure DH won't like it and I'm wary of the Sylvia Plath reference. I would more likely consider Sylvie, is this to nickname-ish?

I do have one more question. One reason that I'm not sure about Mary is that I'm not Catholic and am afraid the name will sound too Catholic, any mn ideas for Mary that will make it sound a little more unique?

Thank you so much :) If you think of anything else please let me know

Josephine J really depends on the name - if you're comfortable posting your last name, I'm sure you would get some feedback on the issue. I don't think of Mary as necessarily Catholic, although I would probably assume Christian of some variety. I don't see Sylvie as nicknamey, but I lived in Quebec for a long time; I think that a lot of Americans do see it as a nickname rather than a full name. Josephine Ruby or Josephine Mary would be lovely!

If you love Mary & are worried about it sounding Catholic I'd avoid using a saint name as a middle name i.e.: Mary Frances, Mary Josephine, Mary Agnes, Mary Elizabeth
