Back when we were just starting to come up with names for future babies, DH really wanted to have a daughter named after me, just like he'll have a son named after him. I have a hard time picturing myself naming my daughter Amber, though. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't think of a good first name if I have Amber as a middle name, and I'm uncertain if there are any good variations of the name out there for me to use it in the first position (I once thought of Amberlyn, but that didn't hold water).
Amber, mommy to Hazel Dawn (2) and August

hmm...variations of Amber:
Amberly
Ambrose
Ambra
Some combos with Amber in the mn spot
Briony Amber
Sylvia Amber
Matilda Amber
Eleanor Amber
Evelyn Amber
Fiora Amber
Good luck,
Brooke
What about your mn - could you use that?
im pregnant with a little girl, and i have two choices, and one of them in Ember
well I once went to school with a girl named Ambreen which I always thought was very pretty (prn like Amb from amber and the reen is like Kathleen but w/ an r instead of an l)
lets see what else... a combo of a Am- name with a Ber- middle name?
Amabel
Amanda
Amelia
Amara/Amaris
Berit
Bernadette
Beryl
or another precious stone... like Garnet or Ruby? or a color like Scarlett?

If you want something "inspired by" your name, as opposed to actually using the same name, you could also consider other "color" names and "gem" names, since Amber fits into both of those categories (yes, I know, not really a gem, but still lots of people think of it in that family of names).
Thank you, everyone ^_^ Every now and then I feel like giving up and just having an Amber Rose, and when I was a kid I wanted to be named Amberlee (back when I thought a name ending in -er just couldn't be pretty). I had thought of using my mn, but my mn is Hunt, and I really dislike the name Hunter. I like several of those name options. Thanks, everyone!
What about Ambrosia? How does that sound to everyone?
Amber, mommy to Hazel Dawn (2) and August
Amber
wife to Danel
