Koyer and Klayte just look silly to me, and very trendy/madeup. I think Crew could grow on me. I really like Dash, but do prefer it as a nn for Dashiel, so Dash got my vote.

Koyer is a name I found during my name searches.

Trendy is really different from popular. Although a lot of trendy names *are* popular, I grouped Klayte with other trendy names because (to me) it followed the K trend- Using a K in replace of a C name (ie. Karson, Kamden, Kameron, Kassandra, etc.) To me, I saw the "clay" part and it looked like a strange take on Clay- adding a -te and changing the first letter to a K. Looking at it in full, the "y" also stands out- making me group it with the "add a random 'y'" trend (ie. Alyx, Madisyn, Lyza, - yes, I know one of each of these IRL).

So, that is what made me classify it as *trendy*, not popular.

Well, there you go- you definitely followed the "change a C name to a K name for no apparent reason trend" by doing that! I have never heard of Clayte or Klayte, but just by looking at it, Clayte looks much more appealing and Klayte looks like someone switched around the spelling to make it look "cool" (but failing to do so). Sorry- just my opinion!

It's really hard for me to vote in this. Koyer has a feeling that I can only explain as "trying too hard"...like you're trying to make it fit an established pattern. I like Dash as a nn, but it doesn't feel "real" as a given name. Crew is too cutesy for me with Drew. And Klayte just looks hinky to me. I'd go with Dash, but it's not quite perfect.

Wow, people are kinda harsh about names! IMO, I believe that all of the names are "unique" as stated in your post. I like them all in their own way. I really like Dash and Crew. They are unique and have a ring to them, they definately won't be the 9th Madison in kindergarden KWIM? Good luck and remember U have to like the name, it's your baby:)

Hey, I've got nothing against uncommon names--my son has one (actually, three--first, middle, middle--none are common, yet.) But there are pluses and minuses to using them--I figure, if you're asking for an opinion, you actually want an opinion and not just a pat on the back for being unusual. (Because, if you want unusual--would you name your child Peaches Trixiebelle Honeyblossom? There's balance between unusual and unusable.)
