Due ANY DAY... No name for my girl!!!

I thought that naming this baby would be the easiest part of pregnancy, but now I'm stuck! My husband kept saying, "It will just come to us," but now I'm 4cm dilated and literally hours or days away from labor, and we don't have a name!! He doesn't seem to really care very much, and is sort of leaving it up to me, but that only makes it harder.

A few months ago we happened on the name Seren (rhymes with Karen), which is Welsh for star. I loved it, but am not sure now. My husband likes Sydney. We considered Elise. I just don't know! I like semi-unique names, but not too out there. Also, my husband is Japanese and Irish and I'm Italian, so we're trying to stay away from names that are too associated with culture, since she'll be a true mutt. What do you think? HELP!! Any suggestions are more than welcome.

I really like Seren Elise as well! It's *beautiful* and unique without being too out there. Does it flow well with your ln? Here are some of my personal favorite girls' names: Eden, Dagny, Ellen, Phoebe, Mila and Samara.

HTH!

First of all, just keep in mind that she doesn't need to be named *right away*. If you're unsure... get to know her a bit rather than making a quick decision, as you don't want to regret it down the road. I think Seren Elise is really pretty. Here are some other ideas...

I love Seren - very unique and reminds me of the word "serene" - a good connotation. Seren Elise would be great.

I know that the "star" meaning is pretty, but Seren has never really worked for me--all I can think of is the deadly sarin nerve gas. (Not helped in this case by the fact that sarin gas was used in an attack on the Tokyo subway a little over a decade ago.) I wonder if the Irish Etain (ay-teen) would work for you, though.
