I need some middle name help on how to honor my mother and my grandmother who are/were both named Joyce.

Why not just use Joyce? It seems the most obvious option, and the one that *really* honours them. Evenif you don't love the name, maybe your daughter will, and you get to pick a first name you love. The second obvious option is Joy, but I much prefer Joyce in this case.

By the way, I love Aila (much prefer this spelling and it looks classier with the "y" thrown in there). Aila Joyce is gorgeous.

Well, the other issue is that our last name is Starnes (rhymes with barns).

Is Ella Joyce Starnes/ Eva Joyce Starnes/ Ayla Joyce Starnes hard to say?

I would use Joy to avoid the awkwardness with your last name. I like your first name choices; all very simple and feminine.

how about Eva Joy? ... I have an Ariana Joy and I always get complimented on her name... I think it's a nice way to honor 2 very special women in your life.
