Ugh. So I run a blog deisgn business and most of the blogs I design are for parents (usually adoptive parents, but not all). Someone just emailed me to get me to re-do her blog, and her kids names are Christoffer, Niccolas, Morganne and Jaxxon... ugh. One of them is a girl, she said... I am going to hope "Morganne".

I have to say, I'm not terribly fond of the double letters. I have a cousin that has double "t" in all of their childrens' names: Pattrick, Kattrina, Christtina.

The one that really gets me is Jaxxon...all I can think of is Exxon (the Big Oil company.)

It does seem that basic phonics (or do I mean phonnix? I'm never sure...) rules go out the window when people start tinkering with spellings. I mean, there are differences in phonetic structure between languages, but this is a whole other thing.
