Is this Cheesy?!!!

We are having the worst time deciding on BOY names and both Dh and I love Isaac ...

Is it cheesy to have two "I" names in a row?

For some reason its bothering me!

Our Dd is Isabella Violet (we call her Isa for short)

and this baby would be Iszak James (Zak for short!)

So Isabella & Iszak ...

What if we have another baby someday and we dont use an "I" name??

Is this a silly thing to bug me. I dont know if I am being overly hormonal or just plan silly. Would it bug you?

Thanks for any input!!!! :) I am at a loss on Boy's names! and we both really like this name but that is the only thinking holding me back from LOVING it! Ughh! Thanks! :)

I think Isabella and Isaac sound great together, but please please PLEASE spell it Isaac. Not only does Iszak look terrible but it also looks like it should be pronounced "iz-zak".
Plus the double A in Isaac is wicked cool.

i dont think its cheesy, especially since their nicknames dont start with an "i." As far as spelling, I say go for what you think it coolest.

To piggy-back on your question, is it cheesy to have our child's first name start with a "z" if our last name starts with a "z"? I'm thinking Zara, Zera or Zoriah. First names starting with Z have become a trend

What's more cheesy than having two I names, is the awful spelling you have chosen for Isaac!!

It's not cheesy, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Out of curiosity, what's the problem with Isaac? Zach would still be totally feasible as a nn.

For some silly reason when I see it with the "C"'s all I see is Sac! lol I dont know why ...

I like it better if I was going to go that spelling as Isaak ... I just wasn't sure if you could still call him Zak since its not in the name any where. That is why I keep throwing the "Z" in I suppose!

I really want Zak as the nickname! Why do you say it could still be the nn .. maybe I am dense. lol

You can definitely use the NN Zak if you name him Isaak! Think about one of the most common nicknames ever: Mike - there's no k in Michael; but there is a k sound. Thus: Mike. It's the same with Jacob and it's ever-popular NN, Jake - it's all about the sound, not the letters themselves. Even Zachary, which often has the NN Zack or Zak, has no k - but it has a k sound. So Zak works just fine as a NN for Isaak or however you decide to spell it; the z sound is in there, regardless of whether the letter z is. I like Isaak and Isak, by the way. I'm less crazy about the spellings that have a s+z, just because the z looks (to me) like you tossed it in there just to have a z in the name. I'm not saying you did that, just that that's how the name comes across.

I agree with the pp - you should go with Isaac or Isaak. (I prefer Isaac). If I saw Iszak, I would have assumed you were going for the Yitzhak variation of Isaac.

I normally am not a huge fan of matching initials, but in your case, it is a name you love rather than an intentional theme, so it isn't limiting your choices. Plus the nns have different first letters. I think Isa and Zak sound adorable together.

Good luck!
