Hello all,
My newlywed husband and I are expecting our first child soon and are so excited! We went the old fashioned route and won't find out the sex of the baby until we're in the delivery room, so I'd like your input for our boy and girl name choices. I'd especially love suggestions on the middle name.

For a girl:
Maggie Grace
Violet Jean (this middle name would honor my grandma)
Violet Anne
Violet Marie
Violet Grace
Anne ___ (we'd call her Annie)

For a boy:
Graham Matthew
William Mark (we'd call him Will)
Nicholas ____

Here are my thoughts-

Thank you so much for your thoughts and for pointing out that GrahaM Matthew and WilliaM Mark don't flow the best because of the same letter.

For a longer middle name to go with the first name Anne, my middle name is Teresa which is pretty but our last name also begins with a T (it's Thomas) so I don't know if that would be the best.

Violet Jean and Graham Matthew are my top votes--both are both classic and yet uncommon, so I like them.

I'm not crazy about Violet or Anne/Annie but I do like Maggie as a nn very much.

Violet Marie has the best flow for your Violet choices - I'm not into the conservative traditional classics, but I think I'd take Maggie Grace if I had to pick

for the boys, you have two combos there where the names run together - GrahaM Matthew and WilliaM Mark

I wouldn't worry too much about the first name ending in the same letter that the middle name begins with. I know that to not do so is one of the "rules" of naming, but I think most of those rules need to be chucked in favor of trying out the individual combinations. I think both William Mark and Graham Matthew work because M is a firm letter that kind of delineates itself at the end and beginning of each name in a way soft letters (like S or L) tend not to. I wouldn't scratch either of these combos on the rule alone--they're still quite handsome.

Awesome, thanks for your input! I didn't want to cross Graham Matthew (Matthew is my husband's name) off the list but Matthew Graham is another option, and we'd call him Graham. Do you have a preference over either of those two?
