I don't feel like Cameron is anywhere near as ubiquitous as Madison. Madison was 5th, Cameron was 50th. There were almost 18,000 Madisons born last year and more like 9,000 Camerons--and boys tend to be named from a much shallower pool than girls are, so you usually see more little boys with the same name than little girls, unless the name is an uber-trend. So, long story short--no, I don't see Cameron as a male Madison. But it's very handsome and classic.

If your reason for wanting to use Cameron is because you want to honour your husband's Scottish heritage, I would use a name from his clan or family, instead of just using one at random.


Or, you could just use Scott. It's handsome and less common than Cameron.

Actually if you combine spellings on the boys list for Cameron it pushes it higher too.
