DH didn't like Elliott or Gillian. He also vetoed Eva Josephine and Cecelia/Celia for a girl. We have a long last name and can't use something with a lot of L sounds (like Lily) or ends in la (think Ella).

Boys names come easier for us. Tell me, wdyt of the following:

Gabriel Welch (my maiden name) = Gabe, to go with big brother Charlie

Asher Joseph

Archer Stephen

For a girl, I like Helena (nn Lena). But other suggestions that seem to "fit" would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the ones we can't use bc of friends/family:

(Ruby, Mary, Emma, Ella, Sophie, Madeline, Amelia, Maggie, Fiona, Maren, Rachel, Molly, Catherine, Zoe)

Thanks for your replies!

I like Gabriel Welch. Gabe and Charlie are good sibling names.

For girls, Helena is nice. Other ideas:

Leah
Alaina
Maura
Rebecca
Kathleen
Jenna
Tessa
Bethany
Audrey

Brooke - those are FABULOUS names! I've had a bit of an epiphany since posting: I think I'm going to try to sell him on Jane Elise. But I really love many of those ... I'd prefer to use a family name and I love Violet Rebecca, since it uses my old middle name that I dropped when I married. :-)

Jane Elise is wonderful! After I posted Jane popped into my head too, but I forgot to get back on and post a Jane combo :) Good thing you thought of it too! Seriously, Jane is such a perfect name, sweet on a baby, Little Jane, Janie, etc, and then Jane looks so sharp on an adult. Lets hope DH likes it!

Keep us posted!
