My husband is going to be out of town working for most of my pregnancy. I'm currently visiting him for the week. I want to have a name decided before I go home. Please give me you thoughts on the names AIDEN and BRAYDEN. I like the names. I just do not know if I am sold on them. How do they roll off your tongue?

I used to like Aidan, but now I hate it because of how trendy all the "-ayden" names are. If you like Brayden, how about Brady instead? I have always loved that name. WDYT?

honestly, aiden sounds like the name of a black crow or a hawk. its also becoming really popular. save your son from the monotony that this name will become in the future.

Aiden has never been a pleasant sounding name to me, but Brayden has been a favorite for a while.

Aidan used to be my favorite name but now it's just way too popular in my opinion. I'm a postpartum nurse and we have several Aidan/Brayden/Hayden/Caden babies every week. If you don't mind there being a few other kids with the same or similar names in the classroom then I would go for it.

According to this website if you combine all the alternate spellings of Aidan it's the most popular name in the country for 2007.

(Of course that also means it's well liked/received which is a plus.)

Honestly, they're not exciting because there's been such a surge in both of these and a couple dozen other rhyming variants. That aside, though, Aidan is a very handsome name and it's got great history. I'd go with that if these are your top faves.

I know a 33 year old woman named Braden and so it has always seemed like a girls name to me!
When we first got married six years ago I was set on the name Aidan for our second son (always knew the first boy would have DH's first name). It is no longer on my list because of its popularity. It's the same with the name Ava ... Kind of weird considering the popularity of our other children! Guess it's just one of those things.

all of the "aiden/aden/ayden" names are out of control - there's Aiden, Braden, Caden, Hayden, Jaden, Kaden, even Zayden

they all have multiple spellings - I've seen

Aiden, Ayden, Aden, Aidan,

Braden, Braedan, Brayden, Braiden

Caden, Cayden, Kaden, Kayden

Jaden, Jayden
