My mother's name is Joyce Ann and my late grandmother's given name was also Joyce..... What do you think? I feel like either a Joy- name or even a Jo- name will work.... Maybe even something ending in -ann.....

For me, it would have to be pretty close to Joyce or to Ann. For example, Joy would work, or Anna, or Joyanna; but Jolie and Jocelyn wouldn't be close enough for me. As an alternative, I could see using the initials J. A. for the baby's name (I was going to do that with my mom's initials, until another idea came to me by chance). In that case, I'd be comfortable using any J name as a FN and any A name as a MN, such as Jocelyn Annora or Josephine Alyssa; but it looks like that wouldn't work for you, since you want Ella for the FN. Currently, I am thinking of using my mom's favorite name as my baby's MN, as a way to honor my mom. I may ultimately use it as a FN, actually; but I'm not committing to anything yet.

How about simply Ella Joy?

It's short, sweet and has a nice meaning.

Ella Jolie?

Ella Jocelyn?

Ella Joyann?

Ella ________?

HELP please.....

The obvious choice seems to be have her middle name be Joyce.

I think Ella Jocelyn is very gracious and makes a nice nod...though I admit that I would kind of like to see Joyce get some play. (But, then, sometimes I like Gladys, so take me with a pinch of salt.)

Again, I am partial to Jocelyn for obvious reasons, but I would go with Joyann or JoyAnn if you are trying to honor them specifically because it makes more sense.
