I know two Camerons and they are both boys! Too me, Carmen is perhaps the feminine version of Cameron.

It's totally ambiguous to me.

I think it's equal. more people are using it for girls lately though - sometimes with different spellings like Camryn, Cameryn, etc.

Just wondering: is there anyone here who (like me) thinks that "Cameron" isn't Cameron Diaz's real name, and it's just a name she adopted as an actress?

Just curious about everyone's thoughts...

thanks!

To me, Cameron is a boys name. But it does seem to be one of those names that girls are starting to steal. I imagine that a newborn boy named Cameron now will probably meet an equal number of boy and girl Camerons throughout his life. Think of the name Jordan - it seems pretty equally split right now, maybe leaning towards the girls. I think this is definitely happening with Cameron.

Hi imo I think it's a boy name, but considering a lot of families are using typical boys' names for their little girls -- a lot of those are now considered "unisex." I would bet that Cameron is going that direction. My oldest son is Spencer and I would never consider it a girl name, but I looked it up the other day and it's now considered unisex! So, is my 2nd son's name, Logan, even though it made the # 18 spot on the top 100 boys names last year! HTH!
