JMHO, here but I thik you'd have to be pretty adamant about correcting people if you named her Julia and *didn't* want her called Julie.. and then she'd probably have to do the same thing as she got older! I have a cousin named Elisabeth who, at 24, is still informing people that she is Elisabeth and not Lizzie or Beth or anything else. I voted for Isabella Faith because I just LOVE that combo!

Good Luck!

This moved right off the poll page quickly, and I wanted to see if I could get more input-- that was my concern on the Julia thing-- dh and I both have Julie's with very negative associations in the past. But Julia is a family name dear to my heart and my oldest dd is already set on naming the baby that. We like Emma just as well (I know how overwhelmingly popular it is!). I pull for Isabelle, dh pulls for Katie... thanks for any more input!

I like Katherine, Julia and Isabella the best, not really Emma. I have an Isabella Grace and we LOVE her name. If we ever had another I like Julia Katherine. I don't think having a Julia with no nicknames is any problem. People always will try to give nicknames for ANY name, just tell them once and it is not an issue. We did that for Isabella and everyone only calls her Isabella (except for family pet names). Good luck an choose the name YOU like best.

One of my closest friends has a Julianna who is almost 2, and she is still Julianna! I have found that people ask her before calling her dd Julie, and she says we call her Julianna. It has really worked out fine. I love the name Julia, I think it is so beautiful and I think you can stick with the full name if you want. My sister is Rebecca and has always been, no Becky at all. (She is 30 now and managed to not have a nn all her life.)
