I like it, quite a bit. It sounds feminine, has a neat meaning, and association, is easy to spell, seems unusual & yet is similar all those popular unisex names out there, but isn't quite, thanks to the feminine sound. :)

JMHO, of course!

I have three Arden's in my immediate family....all of which are boys, but I think using it for a girl is just fine. I absolutely love the name and I am mad that my brother got to use it before I did!!

Too common?? Are you in the US? I've never even heard that name used on a girl and only once on a boy. It sounds very masculine to me.

I'm sorry, I dont' think Arden works for a first name, period. I wouldn't use it for a girl OR boy. COSMETICS some to mind--you know, Elizabeth Arden. I don't know what region you live in, but Arden as a name is not common in NY at all.

Best of luck, though.

Funny, I almost posted to you yesterday to say I didn't really like Aidyn for a girl, but that Arden would be a great alternative. So of course I voted today that I think Arden is a good name!

I am in the US. I have heard it used once or twice...but I was told Aiden for a girl was to common and horrible, even though I never hear it! :) I just thought I would ask!

I live in CA, but I'm from TX. I have seen it used as a first name, and other than the cosmetics.. never as a last... Oh well, I have time to decide! Thank you for the input! :)

Like I said, I have 3 family members with the name and we are in Nashville, TN. I have actually heard other kids around here with the name too. My 5 yr. old nephew has the name and he is complemented all the time---to my knowledge, kids at school do not make fun of him. Around here though, everyone has family names like that so it is not at all uncommon. I love it for a girl and I would not hesitate to use it. It is an awesome name!!!

Let us know what you decide!!
