Well, to me this name is pronounced Care-uh-line (I know ten from ages 70-2)so Lindy/Lindie wouldn't be a natural nickname for this. Also, I'm turned off by all the made up lyn ending names, so I don't even like anything with the lyn sound in it.

I know quite a few Caroline's and out of them all, one uses Carrie as a nn, the other goes by Caro. Most of them, though insist on no nickname and I agree.. Caroline is such a gorgeous classic name that it really doesn't need a nickname!

Good Luck!

Lindy/Lindie is a cute nn, but I see it more for something like Melinda or Belinda.

Hiya!

Just my opinion...I think that Lindy is a REALLY cute nn for CaroLYN not CaroLINE...

I know 3 Carolines - 2 are called Caroline (which is a beautiful name, by the way) and one is called Cara...had this nn since she was a kid - her baby brother called her that and it stuck!

I really like the name Lindy, but I don't see it as short for Caroline, since there's no "d" in the name Caroline.

I like the spelling Lyndie. I think it fits better with Carolyn.
