Amaya is very very pretty! Malaya sounds like Malaysia to me. Legend seems like an awful lot for any child to live up to.

I'm sorry, but none of these names are unique. Unique menas one-of-a-kind, none of these names are. Different, yes. Unusual, yes. Pretentious & trying to hard, yes.

Amaya is the best of the bunch, not too bad, but why the extra A WHy not just Maya? If you want an unusual spelling, try Maija, my personal fave.

Legend, call her L? Why not Elizabeth nn Elle or Eleanor nn Elle or just Elle? She'll thank you, trust me?

Malaya? Mal means bad, Malaysia is a country.

Asia isn't horrible, but of country names, I prefer India, but still, not great. If you want a name that won't be heard on other babies much, why not pull some dusty classics off the shelf? Adelaide, Agatha, Jocelyn, Edith, Mary, etc.

I think Elle or Maija Elle are going to be your best bets to do a little variation on your choices.

I picked Amaya-- I think it is beautiful, exotic, and goddess-like.

I would steer clear from Malaya--yes, it might sound pretty when pronounced, but when I look at it, I see "Mal", which means "bad" in many languages...and also, the way the letters are configured, the mind's eye can fool you into seeing Malaysia, "malady" ("malady", again, has a "bad" connotation), or even worse...malaria. I wouldn't want to use a name that resembles an illness.

Amaya is great! Best of luck to you!
