Girls name help with difficult last name

I am having a hard time coming up with girls names that sound good with our last name: Lilla (pronounced lil-lah).

We love the name Elizabeth, and will probably use it as a middle name since we cannot bear the thought of her being called "Lizzie Lilla" as a nickname.

I don't think the first name should have an "L" in it since it would be too much with the last name. It would be great to have a first name with three or more syllables.

Can't decide if I like how first names ending with the letter "a" sound against our last name, although so many of those names are beautiful like Alexandra and Sophia. We like the name Stephanie, and both my Mother and MIL are named "Mary Ann".

Interested in your feedback....thanks!

some that might suit:

Adrienne, Charlotte,Catherine/Katerina, Anastasia, Francesca, Clementine, Hilary/Hillary, Joanna/Johanna, Josephine, Liana, Aurora, Rafaela/Raphaela, Serafina/Seraphina, Selina, Cassandra, Sabrina, Solange, Sidony/Sidonie, Vanessa, Veronica, Victoria, Valentina, Valeriana, Xaviera & Zenobia.

Some of these are a bit offbeat.. you don't hear them a lot. like Anastasia, Rafaela, Sidony, Xaviera.. but because they all end in an "a" or "ah" sound, the go quite well with your last name. Liana is the only one that might not look right.. with the double "L" thing.. but Liana's stressed syllable is on the end, which balances with your stressed on the first syllable last name, I think. My favourites of the bunch are Katerina, Rafaela, Serafina, Valentina & Valeriana! HTH!

Thank you for your feedback. So it seems you like the first and last name both ending in a (or an "ah" sound). I get mixed responses from family members, so I really appreciate your feedback!

Marianna Elizabeth Lilla! Gorgeous! Or Anna Elizabeth, Hannah Elizabeth, Anne Elizabeth, Mary Elizabeth!

Other suggestions:

Sophie, Felicity, Francesca, Bethany (not w/ Elizabeth in the middle! LOL!), Genevieve, Gwyneth, Rhiannon, Shannon, Amanda, Anastasia, Guinevere, Gwendolyn, Christine, Carmen

You could used Elizabeth & call her Beth. I use the nn Elly for my Elisabeth, not too bad w/ Lilla. Other nns for Elizabeth: Libby (not great), Betty, Betsy, Eliza, Liza or just always call her Elizabeth.

My favorites:

Marianna Elizabeth Lilla

Elizabeth Mary Lilla

Hannah Elizabeth Lilla

Sophie Elizabeth Lilla

Genevieve Elizabeth Lilla

Christine Elizabeth Lilla

3-syllable suggestions: (no A-enders, no Ls in name)

Dominique Elizabeth Lilla

Desiree Elizabeth Lilla

Tiffany Elizabeth Lilla

Naomi Elizabeth Lilla

Stephanie Elizabeth Lilla

Mackenzie Elizabeth Lilla

Rhiannon Elizabeth Lilla

(wow, that was hard, no A enders and no Ls)

2-syllabe suggestions: (no A enders, no Ls)

Amber Elizabeth Lilla

Brianne Elizabeth Lilla

Corinne Elizabeth Lilla

Courtney Elizabeth Lilla

Cassie Elizabeth Lilla

Devon Elizabeth Lilla

Heidi Elizabeth Lilla

Javonne Elizabeth Lilla

Josette Elizabeth Lilla

Kirstin Elizabeth Lilla

Kerri Elizabeth Lilla

Meighan Elizabeth Lilla (pronounced with Long Es, I'm tired of regular Megan)

Nashae Elizabeth Lilla

Piper Elizabeth Lilla (I LOVE this name, I know most people probably don't)

Raven Elizabeth Lilla

Rorie Elizabeth Lilla

Stacy Elizabeth Lilla

Torri Elizabeth Lilla

Whitney Elizabeth Lilla

Zoe Elizabeth Lilla

good luck, I'd love to hear what you decide, I'm glad you are considering the sound issue, some people don't.

After saying all of them both with and without the middle name I think the best 3-syllable one is Dominique Elizabeth Lilla and the best two-syllable one is Javonne Elizabeth Lilla or Kirstin Elizabeth Lilla.

I do like the repetitive endings for first & last.. My last name ends with the "ee" sound (MacKenzie) and only one of my 5 kids has (or will have.. since 2 are on the way) have "ee" ending sounds in their first name.. Timothy, Griffin, Kylie, Lily & Audrey.....LOL Their middle names break up the double 'e' sound, and all of them end up going by nn's half the time, so it all works out fine! I wouldn't give it a second thought.. if the name feels right!

Ah-ha! I knew if I read on long enough, I'd find a post mirroring my thoughts. I did like the Josette and Adrienne suggestions, and I do not like the a endings with Lilla.

These are great, though as I said, I don't like the a enders.

Phoebe, Valerie and Hope are the best here. I just love Hope as a first name--it's usually relegated to the middle.

I think a name like Kristina would work well with that last name. It's my name and my maiden name is similar to yours. By the way, my full name is Kristina Mariae (pronounced Mary).Kristina Elizabeth Lilla sounds like a very refined name but is still open to some cute nicknames.

I think that with such a melodic last name, a simple, one syllable first name would be lovely, especially with Elizabeth as a MN. i.e.

Brooke Elizabeth

Hope

Rose

Grace

Joy

Tess

Ann/e

Just a thought!
