I am probably the minority around here, but I absolutely adore Rhys for boys. It's simple, strong, ages very well (I know a 40 year old Rhys as well as a few little ones!) and most people already are at least familiar with it, so there's no guessing on the pronunciation. It was even on my short list for awhile, but with a rather Scottish sounding last name, I'd rather stay away from obvious Celtic names.. makes me look like I'm trying too hard. :( The Reese spelling seems to have headed towards the girl ranks, Blech! but the Rhys spelling is definitely for the boys.

JMHO, as always

For a boy, I like Rhys.

For a girl, I like Reese (yes, as in Witherspoon).

Take a guess how I feel about the name LOL!! I agree that the Rhys spelling is more boyish :) Not real keen on it for a girls name but I guess I am biased LOL!

I love Rhys as a boy's name, but Reese/Reece is nms for both.

Rhys is great for a boy, TERRIBLE for a girl, IMO.

Okay, I can't vote, but I thought I'd post my opinion here. I love Rhys for a boy. I don't like Reece or Reese for a boy. I don't really like it much for a girl, either, but it's okay for a girl. I know it's really a boy's name, but it's been used for so many girls that now its mutated. if you like the name, I'd spell it Rhys. I think it looks masculine and sexy and dramatic that way!

Best of luck to you.

I picked "like it OK for a boy" - but the one thing I really dislike is the Rhys spelling. it's strange looking, and I see RIS - not REEEESe.

My high school English teacher was Reese Hatcher & I had a HUGE crush on him. He was smart, funny & very good looking. I have very good vibes about this name ;p
