pls help with girls name

We're due in July and still searching for a name for this little girl. Her brother's name is Nile David and our last name starts with T and is long. I am hung up on the name Nola, since I want a name that is fairly unusual but gender specific. DH prefers almost any other name, esp. Nicole, Annika, Megan, Nora, Stephanie. I would love feedback on Nola and if you prefer any of the other options! Thanks! -christie ds Nile 2yo

I'm with your DH. I think Nola is too similar to Nile. Together they sound like cutesy twins or something.

Nora meets all of your other criteria, is VERY similar to Nola (just one letter off), and is different enough from Nile that they don't sound so overly sugary sweet together. So Nora gets my vote!

Sorry! Hope this helps, though!

I think Nola and Nile are too similar. I love Annika, and I think Nora is cute too. Good Luck!

Ditto to what palmer4 said. Nora or Annika would be great. If you do go with another 'N' name for your dd make sure you have a lot that you like. If you ever have more children, you may feel obligated to use another 'N' name so your 3rd won't feel left out.

Good Luck!!

Nola is cute, but very similar to Nile...I'm afraid it would be quite a mouthful when you're calling them both at the same time. your dh's picks are OK, but definately not "different" if that's what you're going for. I'm guessing you like N names so here are a couple that I adore that are sweet yet not the run of the mill. Naiya (nye-ah), Neveen (neh-veen), Nevaeh (neh-vay), Nia/Niyah (nee-ah), Nicolette (love nn Nico...nee-ko), Neva/Nevah (neh-va, or even nee-va if you like), Niamh (prn neeve) or just spelling it Neeve/Nieve.

Good luck!

I don't like Nola at all, especially paired with Nile. Personally I would go with a name that doesn't start with an N, but if you're stuck on that sound, Nora is a great alternative. Annika is also pretty unusual and seems fitting with your style. Megan and Stephanie are on the far end of the spectrum and don't really seem fitting. Nicole is ok, but really lacks any flare. Good luck,

I don't think Nile and Nola sound right together. They're just too similar. I really like Nora though, so why not consider it? It's very close to Nola, so you may like it.

JMO!

Good Luck

I agree with the others, Nola & Nile don't work. Some ideas: Talia, Mia, Carina, Nina.
