I've got to say that Zoe isn't all that unusual, so I can't imagine there's anyone out there who doesn't know how it's pronounced (which is Zoe-ee).

Sorry - I have seen it a lot on this board, but never heard it said.

I was like that for the longest time on Aidan. I had never heard a child named Aidan, so didn't know if it was supposed to be like Aden or Iden until someone wanted to spell it Ayden. Also, when I was young, I thought Chloe was pronounced like Flo.

Zoe is my DH's favorite name. I like Zoe but I prefer it with the "dots" over the e. But I wouldn't want my child to have to worry about that.

A girlfriend of mine named her child Zoe with the "dots" so the name is sorta out of the question for me anyway.

When it has the dots over the e, that's the french version, which is supposed to be pronounced Zo-Ay. Without the dots it's Zo-ee.

I voted for rhymes with "no" because I knew a girl named Zoe and that is how she spelled and pronounced it. Its like Roxanne where the "e" is silent

I remember my grandmother talking about a cousin of hers named Zoe and she pronounced it Zoh. It just seems incomplete that way to me. Zo eee sounds better to me.

I never would have thought there'd be a question about it...I just think that Zo is a silly name, so I just always assumed that you pronounce the "e" as well. Though I have to admit, that when people add a "y" to the end (Zoey) it looks to me like zoo-ee, lol. But I would still pronounce it Zoh-eee.

Best of luck to you!
