We've considered using that name for our baby...It's one of my favorites.

Here are some other spelling variations that we've thought of...

Of course the "norm" spelling Mason

Maecyn

Macyn

Maison

Mason is a boy's name to me. It's on my short list of boy names. But if you really like it Maison would be my preferred "girl's" spelling.

I couldn't vote "hate it" because that seems kind of mean to me. But I don't love it either. It's more like I just think there are plenty of girls names out there that are gorgeous and I think one of those must be better suited is all.

I have never seen the name before for a girl but I like it. I also like the way you have it spelled. I wouldn't go w/Maison, that is French for house. You could always use the nn May which is cute too (my granny's name was May so I am slightly biased).

Don't like it for a girl, and do like it Mason for a boy.

Mason. Is. A. Boy's. Name.

Ridiculous permutations of the spelling will not alter this fact.

I'm sorry, I think it's near-awful as a girl's name. I think of it first as a last name, and next as a boy's name...if you really like the sound, why not try something a little more feminine, maybe like Maisie? Or Mae Sienna?

However, I don't think it would be bad as a mn for a girl, whatever why you decide to spell it. And I don't know if maybe you are honoring a relative, or perhaps it's your maiden name that you'd like to use, in which case, I'd say definitely go for it...but as a mn.

Best of luck to you!

I really like this name, but only when spelled Mason. Maysen (or any other creative spelling) seems trendy, but Mason seems classic.

Well, you don't have to be mean about it. So much for a supportive environment.

You're. Attitude. Is. Crappy.

I don't HATE it, but I do like it better for a boy (and spelled Mason). It sounds like a boy to me....how about Macy/Macey (more feminine)?

no matter how you spell it, it's still sounds exactly like the boys name Mason.

a mason is a brick-layer. you want you little girl to have a name that mean's brick-layer?
