like it, but....I think if you spell it Thea, people will call ther THAY-UH. Could you spell it Teia?

Ditto on the pp. I see thee-uh when I look at it. Teia is really pretty!

I know a Thea who pronounces it Thee-a, like a short form of Theadora. Definatly spell it Taya if you don't want everyone to misspell/mispronounce it.

I like it but I would pronounce it Thee-Ah.

I like the sound of the name, but I always thought Thea was pronounced (Thee-ah), which I don't like.

Is there another way to spell it that would make the pronunciation more obvious?

I really like the pronunciation but not too crazy about the spelling so I voted ok.

Looks like "thee-ah" (which I think would be a darling nn for Theodora btw!) to me I agree, an alternate spelling (Teia/Tayah) will save a lot of corrections. As a Marcia who is DEFINITELY NOT NOR HAS EVER BEEN "Marsha" but rather ALWYAS AND EVERYWHERE "Mar-see-ah", I am particularly sensitive to that issue : )1

Love the pronounciation! You will defintely have people spelling it wrong her whole life. And if they read it they would always pronounce it wrong. If that doesn't bother you then go for it. If that would bother you I'd go with a different spelling.

Taya - most would spell and read this correctly

Taea - people wouldn't spell this right but might have a better chance reading it right (borrowed from a Mae or Rae type of spelling)

Taia - people wouldn't spell this right either but might read it better (borrowed from an Alaina type of spelling)

I think your best shot at being perfectly clear at both reading and spelling is Taya.

My best friend is named Thea...that spelling and the TAY-AH pronunciation. There isn't anything wrong with spelling it right...yes, you may have to correct people a few times but with half the names some kids have these days this one is easy to figure out and remember.

Thanks for all the replies (and votes), but I would spell it Thea (or possibley Théa), I'm not really worried about mispronunciations/misspellings
