I would have picked Iris, but I'm sorry, Malan reminds me of the word "malady".

I picked Caroline Mae instead--it's lovely(!!), as are many of your other choices. Caroline Mae just sticks out for me the most (in a good way, obviously). ;-)

a couple months back there was a post on naming twins. On the girls' list there was a name: Peyton Rose. Seeing it, I didn't even look at the other names because I loved it so much. When the baby was born, Peyton Rose was her name! :)

I was the same here with Frances Rose. I LOVE Frances! Barely even glanced at the other names. It totally gets my vote!

Good Luck! :)

Thanks everyone! A lot of people like Frances Rose (DH will be glad to hear that) What do people think of nn Fran & Franny? Or is the full name better?

I LOVE Frances Rose! Like a pp, I hardly glanced at the other names, this one's so absolutely lovely. :) I like the nickname Frankie better than Fran or Franny. My mother was a Francesca shortened to Frances and was frequently called Fran. She hated, I mean, absolutely hated her name! LOL (and I adore the nn Cesca (chess-KA) for Francesca, too!)

I think Frances by itself or Frankie seem more "today" as far as nn's go. Franny seems quite dated. So if your heart's set on either Fran or Franny as nn's, go with Fran!

JMHO, as always

I voted for Iris because it is different. But if you go with Frances maybe consider Francine? I like it a little better then Frances but both are nice.

I votes for Frances Rose also, but think Francesca Rose is even nicer. My little 2yo neighbor is Francesca, with nn Frankie or Cesca, as a pp suggested. You could still call her Frances as well. All great and creative choices. I agree that using the family names is great, especially since they are so lovely.

Also, Frances (F) could be mistaken for Francis (M), whereas with Francesca, there's no doubt, right?

GL to you ... seems like you're on the right track, though!

I knew a Francesca who went by Chessie.......very, very cute! Francesca Rose is as beautiful (maybe just a bit more) as Frances Rose. She will love her name!
