We have narrowed the name for our third little girl down to two: Alena (AH-LYNN-AH)or Alayna (AH-LAIN-AH). Which do you prefer? Also, what middle name goes best? The only requirement is that it start with the letter "N". (Our other two girl's initials are ANM so we want to keep this one the same.) The last name is Morales.

I definitely vote for Alayna. Not only do I like the sound better, it is easier to pronounce. Alena could be pronounced A-LEEN-a or A-LEHN-a or A-LYNN-a (which seems the least obvious).

My favorite spelling for Alayna is Alaina (or actually, Elaina, but I see that you prefer A names).

For middle names, Noelle comes to mind. I also like Neeley and Nea/Nia.

Good luck to you!

From the way they sound, I prefer Alena/Alina/Aleena (pronounced Ah-LEEN-ah) over Alayna. Alina Morales is nicer to the ear than Alayna Morales, which isn't it any way bad. It is also very nice as well. But if you are going to pronounce Alena as Ah-LYNN-ah, then I prefer Alayna. Go figure.

I have only two MN suggestions right now :

Neeve (pronounced NEE-ev or NEE-ev-ah, I prefer the latter)

Nathalia

Good Luck to you! :)

If I saw Alena I would not think the pronunciation would be A-LYNN-a, I would think it would be wither A-LEE-na, or A-LEN-a. I would not see Lynn in that at all. if you want it to sound like that you need to spell it either Alynna or Alinna. Alena just won't be pronounced that way by anyone but you. honest.

I personally prefer Alayna anyway. very pretty. I kind of like the spelling Alaina a little better, but either one is good.

as far as N's I wish I knew what your other two were. maybe you had it on in another post and I've lost track, so probably the suggestions I give will include your other two.

Alayna Nicole, Alayna Noelle, Alayna Naomi, Alayna Nadine, Alayna Nashae (my daughter has a cousin named Nashae, it is kind of cute), Alayna Natasha (but the two A enders is a little much), Alayna Nyree (I know one girl named Nyree also, the e's are a long E sound, not like Renee), Alayna Nichelle.

good luck.

I prefer Alayna. But I think the way you spelled it, people would pronounce Alena the same way.

I actually prefer Alena to be pronounce Ah-leena. But with the Ah-lyn-na pronounciation I prefer Alayna. And I like it even better Alaina.

Alayna Natalia Morales

Alayna Neve Morales

Alayna Nadia Morales (This one looks the best with Alaina)

Alayna Nadine Morales (I think this sounds the best and looks good spelled out)

Alayna Naomi Morales (This one looks better with Alaina)

Alayna Nora Morales (I think this looks the best spelled out)

I think Alena will be pronounced by others as Uh-lee-nuh, not how you want it to be pronounced w/ a "lynn" in the middle. I think I like Alayna better.

As for mn - how about Nicole?
